  1. Back to the Future Photography
    Posted by Synth Eastwood
    Nov 2011
We here at SE love a re-staged photo. We have previously enjoyed the work of Young Me Now Me. This Back to the Future set however, is a cut above the rest, organized by photographer and self confessed old photograph obsessive, Irina Werning. The angle of the models, the costumes, the ageing of the photos - all is considered beautifully because Irina takes them herself. She calls for people with old photographs to send her copies so she can help prep them and re-shoot them.... [Read more]

    Nov 2011
This weeks mini-mix comes from Dj Rosko AKA Dubliner and Event Junkies founder Ross Killeen. After a disaster involving some 1's and 0's Ross was brought ever closer to the age old custom that started this process in the first place. Better to let him explain. Take it away...... [Read more]

    Nov 2011
Time to sellotape your eyelids open as Fergal Brennan strikes again with another mesmerizing animation. Each frame plucked from the tactile world through the use of time-lapse, stop-frame, a photocopier and some very slow walks through the forest. The song that inspired this homage to polaroids & photocopies is "Nightmail" from New Jackson. A new Irish act whom has recently released a very tasty EP on Pogo records that is now available for purchase.... [Read more]

  6. Grow Against Famine
    Posted by Synth Eastwood
    Nov 2011
Our good pals in Aad recently launched a superb collaborative project in aid of the famine in East Africa. It's called Grow and the idea is brilliantly simple… '1 creative donates money and illustrates an apple. They ask 2 friends to do the same. 2 becomes 4, 4 becomes 8 and so on.' The digital orchard grows & grows. The orchard has only been live a little while but already there's great submissions from folk like... [Read more]

This November beckons the release of Goodtimes latest balladic renderings The Colours of Darkness. While recording this album Goodtime, formally Goodtime John, evolved into an ensemble which has resulted in sound-vibes and mood-fields that are a marked step away from previous works. As a taster Generous John, writer and guitarist on the album, has put the first single 'Behind the Sun' out as a free download here - and the ... [Read more]
