Grow Against Famine

November 23, 2011 by Synth Eastwood

Our good pals in Aad recently launched a superb collaborative project in aid of the famine in East Africa. It’s called Grow and the idea is brilliantly simple… ‘1 creative donates money and illustrates an apple. They ask 2 friends to do the same. 2 becomes 4, 4 becomes 8 and so on.‘ The digital orchard grows & grows.

The orchard has only been live a little while but already there’s great submissions from folk like Johhny Kelly, D.A.D.D.Y., Chris Judge, Conor & David and Detail. All of which you can ‘water’ (and download) for a donation of €5.

We were delighted to have been asked to take part too and have uploaded our cheek filled apple right here (high res version can be yours your €5). Really looking forward to seeing more as they go live too.

There’s no doubt that folks are struggling at home these days, but the famine in East Africa really puts things in perspective. Watering just one of these fine apples will really help out. Not to mention make a great and original Christams present. We reckon these Ikea frames would fit perfectly.
