It's a 4-in-1 piece he created for bike & art lovers ArtCrank that would have fit beautifully into our Cycles Show.   2. Kickstart The Syntheshredder

    A really interesting project comes from LA native Jesse Chorng. He wants to complete an interactive installation utilizing live sound and skateboarding. He calls this The Syntheshredder. A 20ft diameter skate bowl will house sensors embedded under the surface. These will be hooked up to custom hardware and software which will turn the bowl into a instrument and the skater into the musician.... [Read more]

    Today we've a great post to start the week with. Kevin Freeney (1919-1986) was a sign painter who operated in Dublin from 1930's onwards. Such were his talents, he hand painted over 700 shops, pubs and restaurants throughout the city. Not to mention vehicles, cinema listings and whatever else his great skills could adorn.   4. Project Aura: Bicycle Safety Lighting System

    Project Aura is a bicycle lighting system designed to address the issue of nighttime urban bike commuting. Rim-mounted LEDs change color based on how fast you pedal your 2 wheeler. The lighting system is self powered by a front hub dynamo. Although not commercially available yet, the idea is being developed by 2 industrial design students from the States who have been getting alot of attention and even picked up an award....     It was recently announced that the University of Utah will fund and install an alternative to the traditional solar panel on their campus. "Solar Ivy is a solar energy delivery device that draws inspiration from ivy growing on a building". When local planning authorities make it difficult for homeowners and businesses to install new technology on old buildings, new ideas like this Solar Ivy is be a clever alternative.     While sifting through all the great events and exhibitions curated for Home Of Metal, I came across an artist called Ben Venom. He is interested in "juxtaposing traditional handmade crafts with one of the more extreme musical genres, Heavy Metal".     Super online electronic music resource Bleep are starting a new interactive project. Hurray. Bleep are a sister company of the mighty Warp home to Boards of Canada, Clarke, Hudson Mohawke, Plaid, !!! and have been solid gold for over 20 years. Bleep: Filtered is a new venture with and aim to find new music. To do this they are calling for public submissions for an "Unsigned Competition" and Compilation.
