  1. Minimix 06: Hollywood Babylon
    Posted by Synth Eastwood
    Apr 2011
Hollywood Babylon is Dublin’s new Midnight Movie Film Club. It begins this Saturday (30th April) in Block T. The night is devoted screening “disreputable” movies. Roughly speaking, movies best seen after Midnight, in company and with beer. The night will play host to curated guest screenings, re-imagined film posters by some of our favourite artists and designers, BYOB, intervals, trashy trailers, cigarette girls and a whole lot more. ... 2. Thank God it’s Thursday
    Posted by Davey
    Apr 2011
This short entitled Thursday by Matthias Hoegg is definitely NOT a prequel to Rebecca Black's music video. It is in fact 'an everyday love story set in the not so distant future' that is both beautifully animated and directed and Bafta nominated. Enjoy!... [Read more]
  3. Offset is Back with a New Date

    Apr 2011
Offset is back. The people behind the best creative conference in the country have announced they intend on bringing another bumper pack of speakers to the Grand Canal Theatre at the new date of March next 2012. Another 3 days of Inspiration to look forward to. To whet the appetite here is a talk from New York designer Chip Kidd from the first year.... [Read more]
  4. Come Dine With Me

    Apr 2011
To be honest I've had my fill of Come Dine With Me. I OD'ed on back to back episodes but still craved a culinary fix. Luckily along came Food Party. It's a mind-bending, non-reality cooking show set in a cardboard kitchen with some very interesting guests. Check out the above episode which teaches us how to make green screen cookies! Food Party is produced by the Independent Film Channel (IFC) who have been creating original content that is "Always On. Slightly Off." since 1994.... [Read more]
  5. You are the Conductor

    Apr 2011
This has to be one of my favourite online projects from the last few years. In Bb 2.0 invited the public to record clips of themselves 'singing or playing an instrument, in Bb major... with simple, floating textures and no tempo or groove'. The results were all put on YouTube and arranged on one single page allowing a user to control which clips to play, pause, fade-in and out using the familiar YouTube video ... [Read more]
  6. Minimix 05: Goodtime John

    Apr 2011
It's all coming up great this Good Friday as our guest minimixer is musician and designer Goodtime John. Goodtime has been kept busy of late recording and mixing his new album but has taken some time to give us a little insight into some of his favourite songs and biggest ... [Read more]
  7. A Video of the Symmetry of Life
    Posted by Al
    Apr 2011
This beautifully shot video was made by Everynone for American podcast show Radiolab on WYNC. The content was inspired by an episode they aired called Desperately Seeking Symmetry. There is also dangerously addictive back-catalogue of other episodes on the site. Hope you enjoy.... [Read more]
  8. New Shit Robot Video by FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFergal!
    Posted by Synth Eastwood
    Apr 2011
Synth Eastwood's favourite humanoid Fergal Brennan has just finished directing Shit Robot's new video Losing My Patience and holy moly is it good. So good in fact that it's on Pitchfork's homepage right now (embedded left). Check out Fergal's website too for more eye-popping explosions.... [Read more]
  9. Should you work for free? The answer is here.

    Apr 2011
Allow this info-graphic help you decide what free-jobs and favours you take on. Nicely written and clinically clear, Jessica Hische's brilliant chart will help make saying 'no' all that bit easier. Have a look here for the full size version. This is definitely one to print out and stick on your wall. ... [Read more]
  10. A New Movie by Spike Jones
    Posted by Synth Eastwood
    Apr 2011
Well technically this is a new movie by Spike Jonze. Caught on what looks like a camera phone Spike shows off his match-making skills by bringing together two artists from totally different backgrounds. Lil' Buck is a bendy dancer from LA and Yo-Yo Ma is a French string bending cheloist. Enjoy.... [Read more]
