FriendsWithYou Take Over NYC

June 20, 2011 by Davey

We previously blogged about the High Line and last week I was lucky enough to visit it. Section 2 had just opened so there was an extra half mile to soak in. To celebrate the Miami based collective FriendsWithYou were invited to install a forty piece environmental installation entitled Rainbow City. Some pieces were up to 40 feet high! It was really great – a place where children young and old were encouraged to come and play.

To coincide with Rainbow City The Hole gallery held an exhibition by FWY. It’s entitled “:)” and you can see why. After viewing their work you just can’t leave without a smile on your face. Below are some snaps I took and you can find some more great photos here.

For our Minimix Series we ask creatives of all disciplines to select 30 minutes of music for your listening pleasure. Music to dance to, music to work to, music to get hubba hubba to. So far we've had some amazing mixes from folk like Jape, Shit Robot, Conor & David and Toby Kaar. A lot more to follow too. Click above to tune in.
