The Bicycle Architect

March 28, 2012 by Al

This video is a lovely story about an architect who becomes a bespoke bike-maker. Joe Nocella first dabbled in the building process to replace a stolen bicycle since then two wheeled design and manufacture has organically grown into his primary job. In his day to day he draws on his architecture training by involving his bike clients in the whole design process picking shape, size and fixtures even building the final product. In doing so creating a unique experience and most importantly a very personal vehicle tailored to suit the cyclists every need.

Joe runs a shop/studio/classroom called 718 Cyclery on 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.
