This is a brilliant idea from brazilian design agency dm9ddb. Saxofunny are a company who compose and treat audio for commercials. Their tag line is “every image has a sound” and this poster campaign couldn’t sum up that line any better. Will Mr and Mrs dm9ddb please take a bow.

Dublin based photographer Mike O’Toole is someone we’ve long admired at Synth Eastwood HQ. Whether his projects are portraiture, landscape, food, travel or fashion, they always seem to have a warm memory-like narrative — a sort of familiar feeling that draws you further into the image.

Jerry Seinfeld will be in Dublin this weekend for one night only. Let’s hope Pat Kenny won’t be around to introduce him to the stage. The above clip is from 1981 and it’s interesting to see how he nailed this own style of observational comedy so early on and stuck with it. Anyone lucky enough to have tickets?

German artist Nik Nowak has built a life-size Panzer Sound Tank that shoots live audio. A beautifully sculpted speaker unit sits on a pivoting hydraulic allowing the panzer to release sound in what ever direction it sees fit. The speakers are connected to an on-board live set up of drum machines, effects units, sequencers and a mic. All this rests on 2 ultra mobile threads so you can manouver the tank through any party based terrain you desire.

This is a beautiful series of photos conceived by Tel Aviv artist Ofra Lapid. Ofra uses the internet to search for raw materials of which she recycles and reworks into a new piece of art. The originals of these photos were found online, taken of dilapidated buildings in North America. The process to print, cut-out and form a 3 dimensional sculpture set to a blank backdrop has created a simple but striking new effect. Loads more here.

A Joyful Slog is a great documentary focusing on the independent music scene and DIY culture in Ireland over the last 20 years. Put together by The Community of Independentsand helped by First Music Contact, it features loads of interviews with bands, promoters, record shop owners, music journalists, fanzine and poster artists. Even rare footage from a Fugazi gig I attended in a parish hall in Kilkenny in 1999. Well worth a watch.

Angular shapes and great ideas from German jewelery, furniture, product designer Daniel Michel. Everything from bubbles to google vases to secret chats, Michel has put his own stylish spin on proceedings. His website is well worth a flick through.

Sheila Ravenscroft is the wife of the late radio-legend John Peel and the patron of the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts. In conjunction with The Space and the BBC, the Centre for Creative Arts is making sections of Peel’s legendary music collection public. The vast encyclopedia of audio includes over 26,000 albums and over 40,000 singles all of which have been alphabetized and numbered by John’s own hand, charmingly with the aid of postcards and an old olympus typewriter. The project will release content alphabetically with A available to view now.

This beautiful work is from Cecilia Paredes, a fine artist from Peru who currently lives and works in Philidelphia. Her artwork, in her own words “attempts to demonstrate that the body of a woman – her own body – is a sacred zone, not profane, to restore its perception as something miraculous amidst the technological chaos that currently surrounds us”. However, should she fall out of love with visual arts, she could have a fine career in the army applying camouflage to troops fighting a botanical garden turf war.
